Crispy Orange Tofu

| Tofu for 2-3 people | 30 minutes | Vegan | Gluten-free |

Ingredients

  • 400g tofu
  • 400g fresh orange juice
  • 30g rice vinegar
  • 50g maple syrup
  • 40g tamari
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 5g fresh ginger
  • 20g cornstarch

Instructions

Blend all ingredients together except for the tofu and cornstarch. In a frying pan, heat up the mixture on medium-high heat until it starts boiling. Then, turn the heat down a little and allow it to simmer.

Continue stirring gently and add cornstarch little by little. It should take about 10 minutes for the liquid to reduce to about half the initial amount and become almost like a syrup.

Cube the tofu and fry it in a non-stick pan until it turns brown and crispy on all side. Do not add any oil or this will prevent the tofu from getting nice and crispy. Add the orange sauce to the tofu pan and serve warm with your favorite veggies.
